SACEUR encourages reserve officers in Stavanger

On August 10th about 500 Reserve officers present at the Stavanger summer congress of CIOR were encouraged by a video message by Admiral James Stavridis the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe (SACEUR). He invited the president of CIOR, Lieutenant-Colonel Willem J. Verheijen of The Netherlands, to his headquarters at Mons, Belgium, on Monday, August 9th. After explaining to LtC Verheijen what NATO expects from its reserve component, Adm Stavridis prepared a video message with a statement to encourage the participants of the CIOR summer congress. He stipulated the undoubted value of reservists for NATO and explained the role they have in current and future operations of the Atlantic alliance.
