Media Workshop Page
The Media Workshop was initiated in 2006 to expose internal media to CIOR, thus providing a more meaningful understanding of CIOR and its many valuable programmes, events and professional development opportunities. This year’s Media Workshop will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, from the 8th to the 12th of July 2008, concurrent with CIOR’s annual summer congress.
The Media Workshop provides an opportunity for ROA and MOD media to have an overall exposure to the full range of outputs associated with CIOR and its sister medical organization, CIOMR. Another goal of the Media Workshop is to facilitate truly international dialogue among MOD and ROA media in a working environment.
The 2008 Media Workshop will be a high-value event that will provide excellent networking opportunities, a chance to share best practices and lessons learned, and an occasion to meet influential members of the military community. We are building on the success of last year’s event and will bring even more networking and development opportunities for our participants.
For example, this year, in addition to the core programming surrounding CIOR, there will be a keynote media address on the topic of “Balancing Organizational Objectives and Objective Journalism,” focusing on the challenges of communications within a military environment. In addition, we will hold a media-working group focusing on the use of the Internet as a medium for communications.
All registration fees, local transportation costs and the majority of meals and special events costs will be covered at this year’s Media Workshop. Travel and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of individual participants.
